About the ECO SYSTEM Programme
ECO SYSTEM is a civil society support program for environmental protection and represents a continuation of the five-year ECO-SYSTEM project. With the support of Sweden, Young Researchers of Serbia have been working for seven years to empower and strengthen the capacities of civil society organizations, enabling them to actively contribute to improved environmental governance, nature protection, and the sustainable development of local communities.
Why Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)?
Civil society organizations (CSOs) play a key role in connecting institutions and citizens. As a bridge between different stakeholders, they contribute to advancing environmental reforms, promoting sustainable practices, preserving natural habitats, strengthening local biodiversity protection initiatives, and supporting adaptation to climate change.
The Role of the ECO SYSTEM Program
The ECO SYSTEM program connects citizens, civil society organizations, decision-makers, and other relevant stakeholders with the aim of accelerating positive change in the environmental protection sector in Serbia. A special focus of the program is on strengthening the visibility and impact of organizations, as well as encouraging active citizen participation in decision-making processes and local environmental actions.
